چکیده
Background: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is clinically defined as prostate adenoma, resulting in bladder outlet obstruction (BOO), which may eventually harm the and even kidneys. For differential diagnosis of male LUTS, uroflowmetry can be used together with non-invasive ultrasound to ascertain flow rate IPP. PSA also an important indicator for diagnosis. International symptoms score (IPSS) assess severity clinical BPH. There a recommendation consider quality life (QoL) index, where QoL ≥3 considered worrisome. Methods: This was retro-prospective study based on secondary primary data collection analysis, pertaining BPH patients who visited site previously well those are coming regular follow-up since 2019. Patient enrolment done at teaching hospital Shree Krishna Hospital affiliated Pramukh Swami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad. About 100 presenting lower urinary tract (LUTS) histo-pathologically proven cases were enrolled pursue research objectives. All followed up period 3-months after initiating treatment disease through IPSS upon completion assessed. Results: diagnosis, generally less than 1 μg/l absence confirmed In our study, mean volume reported 43.46±19.35 cc. A positive correlation observed between serum severity. Conclusions: Our evaluated predict correlated it life, PSA. findings line currently available evidences, suggested that QoL, better predictors severity, IPSS.

Effect of Obesity on Prostate-Specific Antigen, Prostate Volume, and International Prostate Symptom Score in Patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
PURPOSE We examined the correlation between body mass index (BMI) as a marker of obesity and prostate-specific antigen (PSA), prostate volume (PV), and International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). MATERIALS AND METHODS From January 2008 to December 2008, we examined 258 patients diagnosed with BPH. Patients taking 5α-reductase inhibitors or ...
متن کاملAge Specific Reference Levels of Serum Prostate-Specific Antigen, Prostate Volume and Prostate Specific Antigen Density in Healthy Iranian Men
Background: It is relevant to highlight that there is not a precise and perfect report on either 95 percentile value (upper limit of normal range) or on appropriate reference intervals for serum PSA in Iranian population. Objective: To determine age-specific reference ranges for serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) concentration and PSA density (PSAD) and prostate volumes in a population of he...
متن کاملCorrelation Between the Visual Prostate Symptom Score and International Prostate Symptom Score in Patients With Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms
PURPOSE To evaluate the correlation between the Visual Prostate Symptom Score (VPSS) and International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS). METHODS We enrolled 240 new male patients who had visited National Police Hospital more than twice during a 6-month period starting from July 2013. At initial visit, the Korean version of the IPSS and VPSS, uroflowmetry, and transrectal ultrasonography were use...
متن کاملCorrelation between uroflowmetry, prostate volume, postvoid residue, and lower urinary tract symptoms as measured by the International Prostate Symptom Score.
OBJECTIVES To evaluate the relation between lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) as measured by the International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and noninvasive objective parameters of lower urinary tract dysfunction. METHODS Eight hundred three consecutive patients with LUTS and/or benign prostatic hyperplasia were evaluated with IPSS, uroflowmetry, prostate volume estimation, and postvoiding ...
متن کاملCorrelation between prostate volume and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) as measured by International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS)
Lower Urinary tract symptom (LUTS) is a common presentation among elderly patients particularly in men in urology clinical practice. Evaluation and treatment of LUTS is a major consideration and IPSS score and ultrasound KUBP are routine investigations for assessment of such patients. There is a controversy on relationship between IPSS score and the prostate volume in the literature. The object...
